The summer has been both hot and dry, but a number of rain showers have saved much from drying out. There have been local variations in rainfall so that in some places the annual growth has survived well, while in other places there is some drought damage.
The demonstration fields we sowed in May have recovered well. The fields have not been weed-sprayed, and there are a number of elements of especially mullein and sedge ants.
