Climate game suggestions for the teacher

In working with the game for the students, we first think that they need to get a little familiar with navigation and pages. The students can then change and see what is happening in relation to the climate footprint on the farm. As a final task, they can immerse themselves in one or more of the measures for improvement.

Task 1:

To get to know the game, look around the five areas, tick one measure in each area and then go to "Farm total" to see the effect of the measures you have chosen.

Task 2:

Enter the climate game, select: "My own numbers" and change the number of animals and the number of acres to a farm you know. Then you choose some measures that are relevant to it.

Task 3:

Choose a special measure and find out more about it. Are the factors for the calculations correct? What do you have to think about and what is the cost of the measure?

There can be variants of these so that students can get a certain number of measures that they can choose from and try to get the best possible result. Together you can compare the results and choose a winner in the class.

The teacher or students can select some measures that they can delve into and learn more about. It is somewhat variable how much background information we have entered under each measure. Here, the student and the teacher must also look for other sources. If you find good videos or presentations, please send them to us and we can include them. (email: gunlarn@trondelagfylke.no)

Remember that if they change any of the numbers, the program remembers this until they close the browser - but the next time they start up, the changes are gone. They must take a printout or make notes if they wish to keep their numbers.
